A blog is never idle. It is just lacking updates. Haha. I was so lucky when I was going home yesterday. Mark invited me, junxiang, joel, xiaobin, karthi, xueli and hendrick to his house for dinner and games yesterday. In the end, I arrived first (mark came to fetch me from redhill mrt) while junxiang, xiaobin and joel came later in joel's car. The other three could not make it. mark's house is really huge! Err it was my first time there so I was quite stunned. So while waiting for the rest to arrive, mark and I started with a game of bleach on his nintendo wii. It was a duelling style game where you choose bleach characters to play with. So we took turns trying out different characters. I heard from mark that apparently because of this game, marcus also bought a nintendo wii and proceeded to unlock all the hidden characters like yamamoto and the espadas. After the game of bleach which was really tiring for my arms (imagine continuous swinging, thrusting and slashing with the wii controller), we settled for a less tiring game of fifa 2005. By half time, the rest of the guys came. We ended the match and mark went on to introduce another nintendo wii game called "sonic & mario at the olympic games". It was basically an olympic games event with the participation of mario and sonic characters based on the upcoming beijing olympics. So there were twenty olympic events to compete in like shooting, track and field, archery, gymnastics, fencing, table tennis and others. So the first event we tried was shooting. Everyone was still trying to get use to the wii controller so everyone made many misses. Haha. Then it was almost dinner time. We paused the game and proceeded downstairs. We met with mark's parents and had dinner with them as well as a few of their guests. It was back to games after dinner! We went back and tried out several other events. I fared badly for most of the events except for swimming and rowing which I came out first! Haha. Joel was the most pro player while junxiang kept getting second. After completing most of the events with our arms full of lactic acid from all the vigorous arm movements, we took a break first before moving on to the circuit games. Circuit refers to a series of events in which players compete for points and rankings. So for the rank you get in each event, you obtain some points which are totalled up after all the events to see who the overall winner is. Needless to say, the overall winner is obviously the guy who plays the game most, mark! And I got last ): Anyway just as we ended the circuit games, it was time for dessert. Mark's parents prepared fruits, tarts and ice cream for the guests. We were joking that the games just now was too exciting and tense, especially during the archery round where everyone fared extremely well and it was a extremely close fight till the end. Anyway mark's parents prepared tau huey egg tarts which was very nice! After dessert, I had to make a move first because I had to get back home before I get screwed again. Here comes my lucky part. So mark drove me to redhill mrt. I kept looking at my watch because it was approaching midnight soon and I was hoping to be still in time for the last train. Mark dropped me off and I dashed towards the mrt station. One look at the train arrival signboard and I caught the words "1 min". I literally took off and sprinted up the escalator just in time to see the train pull into the station. So I managed to catch the last train from boon lay toward pasir ris. The next stop for me was raffles place. By 0006 (I know because I kept checking my watch), the train arrived at raffles place. I took a look outside. There were people waiting at the platform opposite. This meant that the last train had not arrived yet. I got off, walked opposite the platform and took a look at the signboard again. 1 min! I am lucky again! Haha. So I boarded the last train from marina bay and travelled back to toa payoh. And I noticed that last trains were never empty. All the seats were occupied by the time the train left orchard, at least for the carriage I was in. So that was how I managed to catch two last trains fortunately and got home! It was a bit lame but well it was a new experience for me. Haha. =))

That should be all for now, time to get more rest for work tomorrow.
300 days to ORD!!
Good night everyone,

I am back to update! But there is nothing much to update too. Haha. Steven got posted to my unit after his commission! What a small world indeed. And while I was walking to the bus stop after work yesterday, I happened to see two aeroplanes taxiing across the road towards the hangar! I was lucky to see not only one but also two aeroplanes. They were huge commercial aeroplanes. I can't wait to touch one of these planes when I get to study next time. Haha. I think that is about all I am going to update then. Maybe I can introduce another song.

Okay, I have been persuaded out of my laze to blog again. Seriously I think I am very lazy at blogging. Maybe I don't like blogging. Then what am I doing here? Haha. By the way, this is the 99th post on my blog!

Crappiness aside. I am here for update my dear readers! As I was saying, I spent the whole sat afternoon as well as the whole of fri night out. So I was dead tired yesterday. Anyway, it's time to describe what I did. Well, on friday night, after rushing back from work and a quick dinner, I was out to meet my friends (my army colleagues) at the esplanade. The arts festival is currently on show in singapore and there was a performance on friday that I was definitely not going to miss. A singaporean singer who moved to Japan to further her singing carreer, olivia ong was back to singapore to perform for the arts festival! So she was holding a 45 minute mini concert with free admission at the concourse in the esplanade. Actually I got influenced to listen to her songs because of my army friends, junxiang in particular, since the cds were in his stash. Her songs were of a different genre from the usual songs I listened to but still I was attracted to her voice and so I got introduced to her songs. So here she was, holding a concert in singapore, which was, I think, her first time doing so here. So all of us were interested and eager to witness her singing live, so there we were, among a huge crowd of people who probably shared similar sentiments or were attracted by her as well. I was rather surprised by her popularity. As my friends commented, the people there did not seem like passers-by but looked more like being there specially for her performance. Since it was an open free performance, the audience either sat or stood round where she was performing. She appeared punctually, with her band, the olivia ong quintet, behind her. From there on, she went on to perform several soothing hits, pausing during songs to introduce herself and her band. I was simply indulged in her songs until I realised that her performance was ending. When she finished her last song, the audience gave a big round of applause. I believed all of us enjoyed her performance very much. Then as the applause died down, dispersed cheers of encore sounded out from the crowd. Soon the cheers got louded until the emcee asked, "Would the audience like an encore?" The answer was unanimous. She took a break, came back to the front and said, "This is totally unprepared." But I figured she was somehow prepared for it, since most performances usually come with at least one encore which was previously prepared for. Finally after yet another great hit, she ended her performance. She began to proceed her way down. The crowd started to disperse. Fans rushed forward, crowding around her for autographs, photographs and even precious handshakes. She was friendly and sweet to her fans. Nicholas and junxiang got their albums autographed and nicholas even managed a handshake that was so dear to him that he refused to touch anything else with his right hand. Haha. I managed to get a photo of her on my pathetic 1.3 megapixel N5300 but it did not look nice so I shall not post it here. I shall wait for chris to share his photographs then.

So olivia ong's mini concert ended and it was around ten when we left the esplanade. We decided to go for a round of drinks over at clarke quay at hongxuan's introduction. His introduction was this home club over at riverwalk place. It looked more like a pub instead of a club. So the first round were glasses of asahi beer. I down-ed one easily. I am a "beer" person. Haha. Then I received a message, fiona and hl wanted to come over. I thought it was a bit awkward, two girls with me and seven other guys. But they came over in the end. I went to get them and got mixed up over the bridges at the singapore river. There is more than one bridge at the singapore river! Haha. So I brought them back to the home club. I was caught with alcoholic breath. Oops. Previously we were sitting outside, then when I came back, the guys had gone into the club. The three of us managed to get in after a bit of delay. Erm. So they introduced one another and settled down. The guys had opened a bottle of chivas with two jugs of green tea and coke to mix with. I tried my hands at mixing, realised that I added too much alcohol on the first sip and had to dilute the drink. Cheers and clashing of glasses went round. Shouts of ord echoed among us. We were just too high that day. But that was not all. With the chivas getting low, the green tea and coke finished, some of them went hardcore which I kindly refrained. So they drank it pure and finished the bottle. But it was still early. Hongxuan then order eight glasses of tequila shots. I had a feeling I was approaching my limit. My body felt hot, my head felt heavy and my bladder was bursting soon. The shots came and hongxuan demonstrated how we were supposed to down the glass. We were supposed to cover the glass and slam the glass hard onto the table. The drink fizzled and we were supposed to drink it all down in a single gulp. I drank two glasses. The guys made the girls drink so I had to help. I was supposed to take the third one but I knew that after that glass, I would have gone past my limit and "concussed". Fortunately, fiona stopped me. =) That was my last drink. From then on, I just kept taking icecubes as substitution for water so that my alcohol volume could get diluted. It was way past midnight by then. I knew I was going to get screwed by the time I went home. Anyway, the club started belting out rock songs and the guys just got high, especially hongxuan. I thought our behaviour should have shocked the girls. Things just got more intense as the guys proceeded down to the dancefloor. I was even branded as "able to dance very well" and persuaded to join them. But I strongly refused, knowing that I knew nuts about dancing. Too bad =P I shall learn how to dance next time. Haha. After a while, the girls decided to leave, so I went along to accompany them since it was really getting very late. I cabbed home in the end.

I shall end my updates for friday here. =)

I realised every time I felt down or tired, a single nudge was simply enough to bring a smile to my face. No matter how I was feeling previously, all I could feel was happiness and joy while chatting. I can never forget all the randomness and crappiness shared. Haha. Thank you so much =) For all the happiness and fun. You know who you are. Pokes. <3 <3

And I think that shorty I’ve got a thing for you
Doin’ it on purpose winding and workin’ it
I can tell by the way you lookin’ at me girl

I wanna make love in this club (in this club, in this club, in this club)
I wanna make love in this club (in this club, in this club, in this club)

You got some friends rollin’ wit you baby then that's cool
You can leave them with my niggers let em know that I got you
If you didn’t know, you’re the only thing that’s on my mind
Cuz the way I'm staring miss you got me wantin to give it to you all night

Lookin’ in your eyes while you walk the other side
I can't take it no more, baby I'm coming for you
You keep doin’ it on purpose winding and working it
If we close our eyes it could be just me and you

I wanna make love in this club (in this club, in this club, in this club)
I wanna make love in this club (in this club, in this club, in this club)
I wanna make love in this club (in this club, in this club, in this club)

(Well, you know we always rollin!, Im on em')
Yea, Let's Go
I’m what you want, I’m what you need
He got you trapped, I’ll set you free
Sexually, mentally, physically, emotionally
I’ll be like your medicine, you’ll take every dose of me
It’s going down on aisle 3, I’ll bag you like some groceries
And every time you think about it you gon’ want some more of me
About to hit the club, make a movie yeah rated R
Pulled up like a trap star,
That's if you have yo regular car
You ever made love to a thug in the club with his Sice on
87 jeans and a fresh pair of Nikes on
On the couch, on the table, on the bar, or on the floor
You meet me in the bathroom yeah you know I’m trying go

You might as well give me a kiss
If we keep touching like this
I know you scared
Baby, they don't know what we doin

Here are the pictures for our golden mile lunch outing! I only took a few pictures. Actually zhiyang helped to take them because my hands were oily and stained after eating the tulang. And since he was not able to be in the pictures, I took another picture of him while we were walking to lavender mrt. Anyway, I was in a hurry after lunch because I had to get home quickly before going out again and the place was further this time round. So I got home, took a quick shower and then prepared all my army stuff in case I was unable to get home in time later. Then I am off to boon lay for ntu open house. This was probably the third ntu open house that I had attended. It looks the same every year. The exhibition was always held at the school of biological sciences. Actually I went there on behalf of my cousin who wanted to study in singapore. Unfortunately she was unable to come on sat, so I made the trip to collect brochures and enquire information for her. Apart from that, I was there to check any new courses available that I missed out during my application last year. Electronic and electrical engineering has this new course called information engineering and media which seemed rather different from the usual course. Anyway my friend happened to be in the pioneer batch of the course, so I went over to chat with her. She was over at the booth to introduce her new course. Her course had some interesting sections and even drawing lessons which I believed my aerospace engineering course would definitely have. I also learnt a few things on electives from her. I did not have much time left, so after a short chat and catching up, I left ntu for my journey back home. I managed to reach home a few minutes before seven. It was time for another quick shower while my mother packed the dinner into a box for me to bring to office since I had no time to take my dinner. And from then onwards, it was night duty for me all the way until eight the next morning. So that was how I only spent around 45 minutes at home. It was a really very very tiring day. I just "concussed" when I came home after duty the next morning and slept straight for more than five hours. Haha. Actually I was quite emo that day. I did not know why but all the negative emotions just swelled up suddenly. However, after the long chat with nik over the msn that day and yesterday, I managed to think through my emotions and discarded all the negative thoughts aside. I guess I should be satisfied how things are and I should wait patiently. Happy happy =)

I should start blogging now, if not there would be insufficient time for me to finish my entry.

What a maelstrom of events for the general elections in malaysia. Most of the northern states have now been claimed by the opposition. Despite winning more than half of the parliamentary seats, i think this has been a disaster for the ruling parties. All right, time for a topic change. I was out the whole day yesterday. Since I woke up yesterday morning, I was only in the house for around 45 minutes. I spent the rest of the day outside! So here's the chronology of events. First thing in the morning was soccer! I went to play soccer with karthi and his friends over at kolam ayer community club. Karthi made me play goalkeeper. In the end, I scrapped both of my elbows because I kept diving to save the shots. It was nothing serious. At least I saved more than I conceded. Haha. Then at around noon, karthi and I left first because we were meeting zhiyang at lavender to head to golden mile food centre. So we met zhiyang outside the immigrations building, crossed over the river and walked over to golden mile food centre. Actually karthi and zhiyang wanted to make new name tags, so that was why we headed there since the army market was located just above the food centre. In addition to that, there are good food located in the food centre! First stop was to make their name tags, so we went to the shop which I made mine last time and I had a feeling the auntie increased her price. Once we settled the name tags, we went downstairs for lunch! Karthi wanted to try the tulang while zhiyang wanted claypot rice. Unfortunately claypot rice was not ready until 5pm. So in the end, he ordered ayam penyet, karthi got the tulang and I got the fried kuay teow with an additional plate for them. When I came back with the fried kuay teow, the guys were back with their respective food. I was momentarily stunned when I saw the tulang because the sauce was very reddish, almost looked like blood. Haha. Tulang refers to the mutton bone marrow actually and it's an Indian cuisine. Karthi was recommending it to us but zhiyang could not take it because it was too heaty. In the end, karthi ate three while I ate two. I was a bit hesitant at first upon seeing the soft and slimy stuff coming out of the bone. But I still ate it anyway. It was actually soft with no much taste. It was still a first time for me. Golden mile food centre had many other delicious food but unfortunately we were unable to taste everything. I think we should come back some other time to try the other food available. =)

It turns out I have insufficient time again. I shall continue the second part tomorrow then, if I am not occupied by other stuff. And many thanks to nik for sharing so much thoughts with me. It was a nice chat indeed. I am sure both of us will get our chances one day. So let us wait patiently then. =)

I decided to update! But there is nothing much to write about. My life is so bland and dull, no excitement at all. Haha. But last weekend was not bad because I went somewhere I had not gone to for many many many years! Since I stayed somewhere in the central of singapore, I hardly ventured out to the west and east when I was young. It was only when I started secondary school before I started to explore places like bukit batok, jurong east and boon lay. Then it came to ns when I started to know about places like east coast road, eunos, hougang. Frankly speaking, I think I have only been to the northwest a few times. So that day was my first after so many years. So, I brought my jc physics file to choa chu kang! Obviously there is a reason to do so. Haha. So, deciding to make use of my bus concession pass, I took bus 985 along the pan-island expressway, thinking that since some part of the journey was on the expressway, the journey should be shorter than taking the mrt. It turned out that the journey was roughly the same as taking the mrt because the bus turned into bukit batok before heading north towards choa chu kang. Well I brought my physics file along because I was supposed to pass it to my friend who was quite worried over it. We agreed to meet at lot 1, the shopping mall right beside the mrt station. But since I came earlier, I decided to explore the mall. I could not really recall how the mall looked like when I last came here. And I was fortunate to find the library there because I was supposed to borrow some books that day to read. And even more fortunately, I managed to find both "the da vinci code" and "angels and demons" by dan brown! I had been intending to read them for quite some time already. So, I was lucky to be able to borrow them there. =) Anyway my friend came a while after I borrowed my books. I almost could not recognize her. Oops. Joking. She still looked as sweet as always. We walked around the place for a while. I decided to go there because she lived there. I think my physics notes were yellowish and tattered already. Actually the meeting was arranged in a hurry but I happened to be free, so I was thinking why not travel to choa chu kang. And I never regretted my decision. =) My notes have become useful again after lying dormant for more than a year already. Haha.

It's time to go now. Tomorrow is the last day of work for the week! Wait, I still have a duty on saturday night which is malaysia election day! Sigh. At least the duty will be a lively one. I hope.

I had this song in my phone. I always found it very meaningful and soothing. So here it is.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Your Guardian Angel

When I see your smile
Tears run down my face I can't replace
And now that I'm strong I have figured out
How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul
And I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
Seasons are changing and waves are crashing
And stars are falling all for us
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall (let you fall)
I'll stand up with you forever

I'll be there for you through it all (through it all)
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Cuz you're my, you're my, my, my true love, my whole heart
Please don't throw that away
Cuz I'm here for you
Please don't walk away and
Please tell me you'll stay

Use me as you will
Pull my strings just for a thrill
And I know I'll be okay
Though my skies are turning gray

I will never let you fall
I'll stand up with you forever
I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Let me be your guardian angel =)
