Let me recall where I stopped my entry. Oh yeah so I ended it on friday night. Well on saturday morning, there was a retreat organised by our unit and everyone was to attend. The event was held at bottle tree park, about 15 mins walk from khatib mrt. There was treasure hunt and buffet lunch. The park was not very big but it was basically a place for families to enjoy themselves together. There was longkang fishing and several other facilities catering to the needs of children. Anyway, the buffet lunch was great! The vietnamese rolls were exceptionally nice and crispy. And we received mandarin oranges and hongbao from CO. =D Anyway we "fell out" at noon and I got a ride on hendrick's van to seletar airbase where I was to make my way home from there. Unfortunately I went to take the bus on the wrong direction. In the end I managed to catch another bus back to toa payoh and spent a major part of my journey sleeping on the bus. Haha.

Now let's fast forward to the evening.

So tiffany asked me last last week whether I wanted to go for a bash organised by nus pru which she was part of. It was a first try for me so I agreed to it. So I met up with stanley, zhenghan and zhongxian first for dinner at billy bombers. We were already quite late by the time we reached the arena. And we missed the lingerie show. We couldn't find the girls because the area in front of the stage was too crowded and they were supposedly at the front. We only found them when the crowd sort of dispersed. Weeyin, meerra, fiona setiawan, chingli and cherie came! After meeting them for a while, they were about to leave already because it was getting late. Only cherie stayed behind because she was waiting for her senior. Anyway I managed to meet several friends while inside the club. It turned out that Singapore is seriously very small. Three separate friends of mine were serving at the same army camp and they got to know one another. What a small world. I thought I saw weiting, my primary school classmate, but I could not confirm it and she did not recognize me when I looked at her. Anyway I also saw kwan chuan and desmond, two of my platoonmates there and it was exactly our first year of service that day. Haha. I chatted with cherie while the guys disappeared in front. She kept jio-ing me to go for her concert. Then fiona and huiling came! It was quite random that they came. Huiling was reluctant to go in but she entered in the end. Haha. Midnight was approaching by that time. I was unable to go home late, so I had to reluctantly leave early. I even rushed to the bus stop for fear of missing the last bus. But I guessed I was earlier than expected. I did not manage to get a drink as well but I might as well not let my liver suffer so much. So, this was my virgin clubbing experience. It was not a bad experience although the music was probably too loud. I thought my heart was resonating while I was inside there. The next time I am going clubbing is possibly another bash or during orientation.

I tried to sleep as long as I could until sunday morning. But there was an outing at noon! I dragged myself out of bed at ten plus and went to grab some breakfast. But I was going to be late anyway. The outing was kangwen's ord lunch treat at aston's! So I had to get to east coast road from toa payoh. I managed to find my way there since I had been to east coast road for several times. There's a lot of wonderful food down the road. And one such restaurant is aston's which is right opposite katong mall. I managed to catch up with the guys just as they entered the place. So kangwen, soon heng, jun xiang and I waited for nicholas to come because apparently he got lost. Once nicholas came, we eagerly ordered our food. This time, I tried the lemon lime chicken with coleslaw and mashed potato. The chicken was tender and the lemon lime sauce was nice. (: It was a great time out with them. We would talk about all kind of stuff. They are a great bunch of friends to be with. Anyway after the lunch, we walked through roxy square towards parkway parade where we had a coffee break at coffee bean! While we were there, we began talking about school stuff and it was easy to relate stories with them because we were either from ri or tchs. We spent quite some time stoning there before soon heng had to go off while kangwen decided to check out the tuition centres for any job opportunities. The remaining three of us decided to shop at parkway parade. Haha. Well we were pretty broke already so basically it was just window shopping for us. So, that was another day spent outside home, hanging out with my friends.

Sometimes I realise that I am probably thinking too much about things. I think so much that I get confused and start to imagine things, trying to act smart and link things together. How I wish I have the power to understand what other people are thinking of. It's time to clear my confusing thoughts but how to go about doing it? I shall find some way then. I must be brave and optimistic! =) It's time to go now, it's another working day tomorrow. That's all for now then. (:

Finally a year of national service is over for me! I have made it thus far, just one more year to go! Haha. Indeed I am happy because I have spent the past few days away from work and out with my friends. =) What can be better than being away from work and spending time with your friends. Anyway I took a day off on friday, leaving me with three days to enjoy life before another weekend was over. So I went to nus with fiona and hl for an early dinner at the arts canteen. The first stop in nus was actually the engine canteen to try the potato salad but unfortunately it was sold out :( So then we headed to the arts canteen, the same one that I went with kangwen the last time I came to nus. Surprisingly there was a stall selling si chuan dishes and spicy steamboat was part of the menu! They gave a huge plate with the usual steamboat ingredients (meatballs, crabsticks, pork and chicken meat, sausages, ONE prawn, dong fen, lots of vegetables) and a small bowl of the soup (you can have it spicy or non-spicy) kept boiling by the fire burning from the solid fuel below as well as a bowl of rice. The total cost was $5 per set and it was very filling actually. We spent a very long time down there finishing the food and we had to change the fire two times because the solid fuel burnt out. The soup was less spicy than the previous two steamboats I had which explained the "no kick" expression I had. Haha. Still, the spicy steamboat was bad for the stomach, even though it was nice and yummy. But it was worth the cost for such a steamboat and definitely worth the time as well, especially with the company I had. After the steamboat, fiona was craving for dessert so we went back to clementi central for some chendol at the hawker centre. A funny incident happened but I shall not elaborate because it was embarassing yet it brightened my mood, considering I was rather tired at that time. Haha =) Then I accompanied the girls back on the mrt to choa chu kang before I embarked on my long long journey back to toa payoh. Here ends an enjoyable day for me. =)

I am running out of time again. I hate to split my stories into separate entries but I guess I cannot help it. So bad of me. I shall continue tomorrow or in the near future then. Remind me! That's all for now. Good night all.

All right I am back to finish my previous entry. It was quite saddening to see people leave as night approached. But it was just an astro orientation, if it was interesting enough to attract them, hopefully they would want to come back for the next session then. And my grand-juniors did not uphold the tradition of going to kap after the session! But we did anyway, I was famished by that time. Haha. So it was just me, rong'en, cherlynn, ly and jin peng going to kap for our usual meal. So it was like a get together session, getting updated on one another's lives. It was one of the rare chances that we could still get to meet up. Anyway, ly had her curfew in the hostel, so we left quite early. So this sums up the whole night I spent on friday. =)

Now let's talk about the ord chalet!! Most of the senior batch ord-ed on friday, so they organized a chalet at changi with all the guys invited to join in. So most of us had work on monday and tuesday but we still went to the chalet after work. There was barbecue that night and drinks as well. So they went about mixing alchohols with fruit juices or soft drinks. I drank two mild cups of it. The bitter taste was not very obvious so it was okay. So after the barbecue, some of us went in to catch the last episode of huang jin lu while another group of us, me included, went to play some board games that mark brought. The games were just so wacky and fun, especially with a large group of people playing. The second game, which I forgot the name of, was particularly interesting with us coming up with all kinds of ideas to relate to the name on the cards. By the time we ended our games, it was past eleven, so I needed help to get out of changi since I lived so far away. Fortunately, mark was able to drop me and jx right outside jx's house where I could wait for the bus to get home. In addition, I was lucky that the bus ride was a smooth and quick one and I managed to reach home just 15 minutes past midnight. It was all right for me since I was going for duty the next day so I could sleep all I want. And so here I am, blogging after another nap just after my duty over the night. That's all for now then.

I finally got the chance to blog. Actually I was quite lazy to spend some time to type an entry. Sorry that you always have to nag at me to blog more. Haha =)

Anyway I took half day off on friday to get some rest and also I got something on in the evening. I got invited to join my grand-juniors for their astronomy orientation. I sort of missed them and I could get to see some great-grand-juniors. Haha. Well before that, something interesting happened on my journey back home from work. It happened while I was on board this bus on my way home from work. The bus was approaching a traffic junction then suddenly the bus came to a stop at the side of road. The bus uncle seem so flustered as he quickly got off the bus and ran backwards away from the bus without telling the passengers what happened. All of us turned and looked at him as he kept half-walking and half-running to some place very far behind. Finally he got out of sight so all of us just had to wait until he came back. A few minutes he came back and he was holding the left rear mirror of the bus! Apparently the left rear mirror came loose and dropped somewhere further back. I think the bus driver only noticed it missing when he wanted to look into the mirror. So he wanted to get back to the bus interchange as soon as possible. So he did not pick up any passengers and skipped the remaining bus-stops. Fortunately most of the remaining passengers were headed for the interchange so he reached there pretty quickly. It was a rather interesting incident to begin my rest of the day away from work.

So I got home and took a nap until five o'clock. So I took the usual bus back to njc. It has been a long time since I went back to school, probably seven months already. The journey back felt so different, so nostalgic. Yet I saw familiar faces on the bus and I wondered about the six years that I spent in this area. I got down and first person I met was mr low kwee peng at the bus-stop. He had not changed, still the same old self. I chatted with him for a while and I thought he was quite surprised that I came back. So there I went, across the same old bridge that I spent walking for six years, and through the side gate infamous for its opening hours. Luckily I came prepared as I slowly walked towards the security guard. I was in my orientation t-shirt and jeans. The same security guard who had seen me for two whole years saw me. I stopped and flipped open my wallet, ready to take out my secret weapon - my security pass (the white card that we always had to tap every morning)! Then he said, "Student?" I paused and then nodded, "Yeah." And he let me through! Haha. At least I still looked like a student to him. ^_^ As usual, the ccas were having their trainings on friday. And apparently the school managed to change the turf of the field to something better. I went up to the canteen and got a drink. I wanted to look for the mixed rice uncle but his stall was closed and he was not around when I went to the back.

So I went up to sigma lab and found the guys. Actually I felt old being a year 4 there. But at least cherlynn and rong'en came back too and ly was still there. There was still people I know. Even jin peng came to promote his newly formed astro club at marine parade community club. I thought it was wonderful to be back. Although there was no observation that night. I felt a sense of belonging to the place. What we had been through to manage the club. All the setbacks and achievements that we had been through. Haha I felt happy just to be there.

Anyway I got to go first. I will try to finish the entry later tonight when I get back. So, see you then (: Be back later.

I spent yet another day off at home, apart from a short trip to bishan community library to return and borrow some new novels to read. The bishan community library has a bigger and better fiction collection than the toa payoh one and they have multiple copies of books available! So, I will not be afraid that I cannot find the next book if the books are in a series. And I realised old chang kee curry puff was selling at 80 cents today. I have no idea why though. Usual price was around one dollar. Anyway since it was my day off, my mother told me to clean up my room because chinese new year was nearing. So I vacuumed here and there, cleared up my table, rearranged my stuff on the table, wiped the walls and ceiling. The end result was me sneezing non-stop. Maybe not so serious but I have a bit of allergy to dust. Apart from that, we went to buy a new shoe cabinet last saturday because the old one was in a cannot-make-it state. It's those self-assembled type with all the wooden planks and screws packed in a cardboard box. So I went to assemble it on sunday by myself. Fortunately there were step by step instructions just like assembling a gundam model. So I just simply followed the instructions. Haha. But I realised that my right wrist had not recovered fully. I still could not exert enough strength while turning the screwdriver. It looks like my wrist still needs some more time to recover completely. So the cabinet was completed and then today, me and my mother shifted the new cabinet outside the house. So I spent the day moving stuff here and there and cleaning up the house. All this were part of the yearly da sao chu before chinese new year.

It's getting late for me, I didn't realise the time. I supposedly took off tomorrow but I shall cancel it and go back to work and use my off on some other day then. May the weather tomorrow be great and sunny! I want to play games! Haha. That's all for now then, see you my readers (:

I went to mind cafe after work yesterday! People who went along were karthi, kent, zhiyang, kangwen, hong ying and hong yue! Anyway, karthi was the organiser for this outing, since he had been to mind cafe for several times. And hong yue came along with us after so long since he left for his medicine studies. It started raining before we managed to get to the cafe. We ended up sharing umbrellas until we reached the place.

So the seven of us took a corner table on the third floor, ordered our package and started to play our games! We played taboo!, ugly dolls, snorta!, jurassic jumble and true colours. And true colours was a game about our true self, what people think about you and what you think about yourself. Sometimes what you think of might not be what people think of you. So basically, this game was a good chance to know more about your friends and yourself. And indeed we did get to know more about one another. After we ended our game session at nine plus. Kangwen and kent had to go first while the rest of us decided to find somewhere for supper. So we walked from boat quay till circular road and we decided to just have supper at the hawker centre there. So we got some food and drinks, sat at our seats and just chilled. We talked about a lot of things like work, people and even medicine studies. Hong yue was like describing to us how his lab lesson was like. Haha. It was quite interesting though, and he said that after getting use to the body and everything, people started throwing body parts around. Yes, human body parts. We were so bewildered. Haha. So much for medicine lab lessons. We really had a fun night out.

Anyway today, I went out with jenyi, jenxi, shuyi, liyin, hongwei and the rest of the advent destiny team for an outing. We had lunch at some Indonesia restaurant at parklane shopping mall called ayam bakar selegie. It served traditional Indonesia food which was quite unique to me. First time tasting Indonesian cuisine. Even their coffee was different from the usual kopi I get to drink. The food was pretty good and their belachan chilli was really spicy enough. Really. Haha. So after lunch, we headed over to sunshine plaza which was opposite the road. The place was well-known for having several shops selling japanese merchandises like comics, gundam models, anime figures and other related stuff. I didn't manage to find anything that I wanted though. After walking about in sunshine plaza, we headed to kinokuniya at takashimaya while jenyi and hongwei left first. The guys bought some comics and magazines. I could not find the volume I wanted. It was so unlucky, all the volumes were available but just not that particular volume. Grrr. Well, I managed to get the volume I wanted in the end but not from kinokuniya. In the end I left early for dinner back home, so I did not know where else they went after I left.

This sums up what I did for yesterday and today. Nothing much actually. Anyway my weekends are all free for the rest of the month. Haha. Anyway I have to go soon, so that's all for now...

I am back again for the third post of the year as promised! Nothing much happened to me for the past few days. The most happening day would probably be sunday which was yesterday! I realise I do not blog on the actual day of occurrence most of the time. Lazy me =P

So, I hope my memory does not fail me. But I always have good memory =D I think if someone did something bad to me, I will probably remember it for life. Haha. Anyway, I had night duty on saturday night. I managed to last through the night despite some changes to the routine. I didn't sleep much though, just a few hours. So I think I was in a half-awake mode when I left office. So I took the bus from the bus stop and realised that my concession pass expired the day before. That thing aside, I happily took the bus for more than 20 minutes then I realised I forgot to bring my uniform home. I was in civilian attire at that time. So I got off the bus, rushed over the road and just managed to board the oncoming bus back to office. That took me another 20 minutes. Zzz. Knowing that the waiting interval between buses on a sunday would be very long, especially for the road there, I took my time to walk to office, packed my clothes, chatted a while and walked slowly back to the bus stop. The road there had some constructions undergoing, so there were several stray dogs staying around that area. Just as I was walking to the bus stop, three of the dogs came out to rummage for food at the rubbish bin near the bus stop. Being careful not to provoke them, I slowed my footsteps and walked slowly to the bus stop. Since the bus had not come yet, I observed the dogs for a while. Then I saw that one of the dogs had its front right leg amputated. So it was just balancing itself on three legs and trying it best to follow the other two dogs. Obviously its movement would be affected with one leg missing, yet it was still trying to survive in the wild (I treat it as the wild because it's a stray dog and not a pet). It can no longer run around as always and chances of it being knocked down by a vehicle increases too. I felt pitiful for the dog. I hope at least it is able to survive well in that area. Survival of the fittest. The day will probably come where it will be left behind due to its disability ): May it get noticed by some spca person then. Woof woof woof (:

One more day of work before I go on my off again. At least work is much better with two people around to share the load. And I want to go out on my off! Can or not? Haha (: *hints hints* Alright, I got to change my bedsheets now. More to update next time then. Good night everyone (: Sleep early ra, don't stress!! Jiayou!!

It's new year's day and usually we would go down to east coast park every year for our cycling outing. It is one of the few days that my father does not have to work. And this has become sort of a family tradition to go to east coast park to cycle. Besides, we have a total of seven bicycles, including those in my uncle's family. Haha. And all of us know how to cycle apart from my youngest cousin who is still using a four-wheeler. Anyway for today, we left for east coast park earlier than usual because the weather was good at that time. We would start cycling from the hawker centre next to the lagoon, heading in the east direction towards changi. So we reached the end of east coast park at safra changi and today we found a new cycling route open, leading towards changi park. So it was a 7km park connector linking east coast park and changi park together. We did not manage to cycle until the end but we stopped at the 2km mark where the cycling path is just a road away from changi airport. So basically you can see the airplanes landing onto and taking off from the runway. It was a great view. I have not seen planes taking off or landing up close. It was an unique and perhaps useful experience for me (:

Anyway before heading for the new park connector, we made a detour at betok jetty where all the fishing kakis would gather to fish. There, I commented to my brother on how nice it would be to watch the fireworks from the jetty because it was not blocked by any buildings and we could view the city directly from there. So the fireworks definitely can be seen clearly! (:

Anyway, I am still lacking sleep. I only slept for four hours plus yesterday because I remembered I fell asleep at around 4am. Between the hours when I got onto my bed and until I finally entered dreamland, I just could not fall asleep, no matter what methods I tried. Perhaps I was too worried for you, so worried that my mind refused to go to rest, prompting me to stay awake so that I can know that you are safely back home before it would obediently go into sleep. And indeed so, after your message came, I was relieved and before I realised it, I was asleep already. But nevertheless I still need more sleep. So, I have decided to sleep at 11pm today, which is like now, just a few minutes more then. This should guarantee me six hours of sleep. I hope it's enough. So to add on to my new year resolutions, I must try to sleep more and this applies to you too (: Zzz more alright. Alright I should go now. Tomorrow is the first working day of 2008 and school starts tomorrow too. This means the bus will be more crowded ): Off to sleep now, good night to everyone reading this (:

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!!
May the year be a great and prosperous one (:

The unit went for a bowling session yesterday at kallang leisure park as part of the new year celebration. I was supposed to be going home after my duty overnight but somehow I was asked to go due to vacancies. So off I went to the bowling alley for my first bowling experience. Well I do not know whether a score of 75 and 88 for two games is good or not for a first-timer. But it certainly was fun enough. Our team was not bad considering that I, the noob, was in the team. I think we were second in total score. Haha. The session ended at around noon and from then on, it was our half-day off. I just went home, showered and slept till 5pm in the evening. And so I spent my countdown at home with my family. It's 2008 now.

All right, time to go cycling at east coast park now. Be back later (:
See you...
