Super suay lah,
first I lost my physics S thermal notes, luckily got backup online, could print out again and copy from hl, then dunno why I lost my calculator until I found out this morning. Luckily, yong tat could bring another one to lend me or else today sure die de (physics and maths S leh). Haiz, that was my beloved calculator, used since Sec 1 and has hidden functions somemore.

Well, just have to get over it and get a new one soon. So while most of the people in NJ have finished their exams, I still have one more left next tues which is phy S. I must say the papers for this CTs were easier than the previous one. My maths result should be the worst that I have ever gotten cos I did not study; bio essay I crapped a lot, dunno can get marks or not; chem hmm I know how to do organic chem, quite easy but food chem got some blanks cos I seriously dunno the answer; phy surprisingly easier than last time but made some stupid mistakes, nvm hope it's alright; maths S always so difficult so it's normal if I don't do well, supposedly 34 out of 80 marks blank, so still got chance to pass :p I was glad that my critical thinking and analysis helped me during the exam today, was able to solve a few questions hehe.

Been mugging so seriously since last week, it's time to take a break now, maybe I will finish up the BLEACH animes that ying cong burnt for me. Oh did I mention that NJ Team 2 got 1st for NTU/NUS Astro Challenge 2006 last week? Haha all thanks to rong'en for his buzzer control and kenneth for his superb telescope knowledge that left the judges with nodding approval. It was disappointing that team 1 did not manage to get in but nevertheless it was a good experience for the JC1s. And the IP team just missed the finals by a few marks, what a pity. Never mind I believe they will achieve something next year. Jiayou!! Astro Exco elections coming up, I will soon be stepping down from my duties, it's time to hand over after a year. Looking back, I realised I have not been very serious in my duties and it should not be this way. I was lucky that nothing went wrong all this while. Being in a high rank position had indeed taught me a lot of things. And without the help of the exco, I certainly wouldn't have been able to do everything by myself. Special thanks to them all :))

Germany vs Argentina starting soon le,
who will emerge as the winner and proceed to the quarter finals?
nobody knows...just have to wait for results...

that's all for today,

So far, we have seen a few exciting matches:
germany 4-2 win over costa rica
phillip lahm's 6th min shot into the far corner was superb and this just shows how good he is (haha in FM).
klose celebrated his birthday with two goals though FM indicated that his finishing is poor.
we must also praise paulo wanchope for his two goals, gifted to him by the german defence when they failed to anticipate two through passes to wanchope who finished it simply.
and finally frings 30 yard screamer, incredible shot, no one could block it and it was just out of the reach of the keeper.

ecuador stunning 2-0 win over poland
showed that they could still win at low altitudes

england humble 1-0 win over paraguay
credits to gamarra for the own goal and not beckham for the freekick
lampard had 2 nice shots but both were saved by the stand-in keeper (first choice keeper got himself injured in the first few minutes)
do keep a lookout for nelson valdez, uprising paraguayan star currently playing for werder bremen

T & T unexpected draw 0-0 with sweden
despite the odds and numbers (T & T were down to ten men for like half the game), T & T held out to a draw, man of the match goes to shaka hislop for making numerous superb saves against sweden, rating confirm 10/10

argentina 2-1 win over ivory coast
argentina lead 2-0 at first half before drogba got one back for ivory coast, too bad they could not score another to equalise

holland small 1-0 win over serbia & montenegro
the team with the best scoring record against the team with the most stingy defence, really like zi xiang mao dun, in the end, the best scoring record won by a margin

mexico 3-1 win over iran
omar bravo scored a brace as mexico won iran comfortably

portugal 1-0 win angola
angola was once portuguese territory, and portugal had been thrashing them big scores but this score was quite unexpected though I must comment that figo showed great vision to pass the ball for pauleta to score, c. ronaldo must be frustrated that he could not score any despite many chances, a header that hit the crossbar and a long shot that was parried away by the keeper

australia stunning comeback against japan to win 3-1
this just shows that nothing is impossible, as guus hiddink sent on tim cahill and aloisi for them to grab the winning goals, cahill scored two while aloisi scored the last, japan's defence totally self-destructed in the last few minutes as australia scored 3 goals in just 5 minutes, truly comeback kings

czech republic 3-0 win over USA
czech is world no. 2 and USA is world no. 5 leh, should be quite exciting but USA got a thrashing from czech republic, koller was unmarked when he headed the ball in (of course lah, how to mark him when he's the tallest player there lol), rosicky scored a screamer from midfield before adding another as he raced into the USA penalty area and shooting with the outside of his right foot (yeah he's replacing pires at arsenal next season, so I guess it would quite exciting to watch him play)

last but not least italy 2-0 win over ghana
italy could have scored more had the ghana keeper not pulled off strings of saves from toni, gilardino, perotta etc but iaquinta did well to capitalise on a mistake by kuffour and rounded the keeper to score the second

maybe I should add a topscorer chart here:
2 goals
miroslav klose (germany)
paulo wanchope (costa rica)
omar bravo (mexico)
tim cahill (australia)
tomas rosicky (czech republic)

1 goal
phillip lahm (germany)
torsten frings (germany)
carlos tenorio (ecuador)
augustin delgado (ecuador)
hernan crespo (argentina)
javier saviola (argentina)
didier drogba (ivory coast)
arjen robben (holland)
yahya golmohammadi (iran)
antonio zinha (mexico)
pedro pauleta (portugal)
shunsuke nakamura (japan)
john aloisi (australia)
jan koller (czech republic)
andrea pirlo (italy)
vincenzo iaquinta (italy)

that's all for world cup updates now, watching south korea vs togo match now (9 pm match), togo scored a while ago and south korea had just pulled one back through a freekick
hellmos signing off...with more updates to come ;)

End of second week coming to an end soon, once again, lazy me have not done anything much to revise for CT2, haiz. Really must buck up, especially my physics, it's as if I lost all my basics to physics, simple question about forces also don't know how to do, what can I do? Guess I just have to mug the whole tys if I really have no choice.

Had astro training on Wed and today, was quite ok, but seriously we must come up with a design as soon as possible, if not we will be unable to finish the model in time. Everyone must work hard and judging on the intensity of training other schools have put, we seem to be lagging behind. Is it our complacency that we are confirmed top four every year the reason why we are so slack now?
HAIZ...

Anyway aside from training, I went for cip on Thurs to HCA Hospice Care to interact with the patients. Although around ten people signed up for that day, only 5 turned up: me, winnie, stan, hw and tiff. Wonderful. So we taught them origami. Although most of them couldn't really make it the first time round, after a few practices, many could fold the shape out nicely and some even wanted to take the paper home to fold by themselves. We had fun interacting with the patients. Even though they had uncurable diseases and their life span is short, they are able to live their days fulfillingly which is a good thing. I felt happy for them and satisfied that I did something to make their lives meaningful and I believe we learned a lot from them. It was a meaningful trip afterall.

We cannot add days to their lives, but we can add life to their days.

This quote is indeed very meaningful.

Well World Cup 2006 is starting in 40 mins time, I guess I might do some predictions when I am free regarding the World Cup, perhaps Costa Rica might hold Germany to a draw later, haha. And too bad Cisse broke his leg again, lucky it's the other leg, if it was the same one, I guess his soccer career will end here.

Anyway I think that's all for today, will update more regarding World Cup

Read something quite interesting and funny from my mail, so here it is:

The following is an actual question given on a University of
Washington chemistry mid term.
The answer by one student was so
"profound" that the Professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's
Law, that is, gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing over time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, lets look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which
souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
2. Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the
increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it? If we accept the postulation given to me by Karen during my Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and taking into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having relations with her, then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze.

The student received the only A given.

It's the end of the first week, basically went back to school for lessons on Monday and Tuesday, slack around and read up on astronomy on Wednesday and Thursday (I think I played FM more :p) , went back to school in the morning for Psychometric Assessment Exercise, something like an IQ plus personality test. The test, in overall, was alright just that i could not finish the maths section in time and the personality test had 185 questions!! Anyway after the test, I went up to Sigma Lab for astronomy club training until 3 plus. Basically I haven't been doing much work except for completing Normal DRV tutorial and assignment which was not required of me to do, lol. Maybe I should start to pack my room and hunt for all my notes soon...

That's all for now,
