I found this music video on youtube!! It's the mv for the song "words that are hard to say" by lee seung gi, the lead actor in this mv. I found it almost like a condensed version of a korean movie. And it was really nice and touching! The lead actress is chio! Although she looks a bit mature to be a high school student. So, enjoy the mv then. It's really meaningful =)

I guess the more frequent you listen to some songs, especially repeatedly over and over again, you will just get hooked on to it. That happened to me as I was listening to jay chou's new songs repeatedly. I started to like the songs the more I listened to them, especially 我不配. Haha. Anyway I am still lagging behind in my list of songs procurement, and furthermore my playlist is still in a mess, so most likely I shall continue listening to jay chou songs then ^_^ *nudges*

It's two days more before I embark on my one-week long break from work and I will be working alone for these two days >.< Anyway, I will be free next week so do ask me out! Hehe. Next week is a special week too (=

That's all for now then, this shall be a short post. I have to sleep already. Good night and enjoy your holidays (especially rabbit ^_^). Meanwhile, for the rest pia-ing for the exams out there, hang in there and jiayou!! It will be over soon!! All the best!!! (^(oo)^)

I am back for another update (=

Another quiet week had just passed. My playlist is still quite in a mess but I managed to update some of the music files, so it looked nicer now. I have done some rearrangements as well. Hehe.

I went to eat again! Karthi was suggesting having dinner on sat, but we did not know where to eat. So we consulted food blogs! Haha. We decided on western, so we went to search under that category. After looking through a few cafes and restaurants, we found one that looked interesting. The cafe was located just down east coast road, a few shops away from aston's. So, we decided on the place and asked around to see if anyone was interested to have dinner on sat. In the end, karthi asked xueli, zhiyang, christopher, junxiang and zehan to come.

So the restaurant was cafe oliv, located at 220 east coast road. There were several eateries located along east coast road. We agreed to meet at six, though karthi and I arrived late. The place was small but it felt cosy. Menus were promptly provided on the table. Only xueli and zhiyang came, so there was four of us. One interesting thing I found out from the food blogs was that this restaurant did not have gst and service charges! I think this was one of the appealing factors for this place, apart from the food, of course. So, we ordered different dishes to try since they offered a variety. I ordered a beer battered fish, xueli a beef stew, zhiyang a tenderloin steak (done medium rare) and karthi one of the linguines and a lamb shank! Prices for the main course ranged from $10 to $20. Service was excellent with genuine smiles and warm politeness. We received our food and drinks rather quickly. It was quite funny when after karthi's pasta came, the waiter came with the lamb shank and he asked whose it was. I was controlling my laughter when karthi said it was his and his pasta was on the table just in front of him. Imagine the surprise on the waiter when karthi said that. Haha. The rest of the orders followed. The size of the fish was quite big, reasonable enough for the price. It was nicely done with a slight tinge of beer along with the crispy crust. Then i tried a piece of zhiyang's tenderloin steak. It was just nicely done, at his request of medium rare. Since karthi had two main courses, he ate the linguine, leaving the lamb shank last. The rest of us had already finished as we looked at him starting on the lamb shank. I could not help it but try some of the meat. It was just too tempting. It was so big and yet worth the price for it. The meat was so delicious. We finished the meals, sat around for a while before settling the bill. The total cost amounted to $90.50 and as mentioned, no gst or service charge!

Since it was still early when we left the place, karthi suggested that we go settler's cafe for some board games and snacks. I have been to that area before so I knew the place quite well. We happened to pass by aston's and it was just as busy as ever, the waiting queue was always so long. Settler's cafe was just a few shops down from aston's. Karthi happened to meet his friend who was working there. We got a two hour standard package with drinks and a snack. He introduced us some games, both fast and slow. Karthi and I played charoodles again, just like the last time we came. Charoodles is just playing charades with props like a tube, cup, ball or a square. Needless to say, the game was just plain hilarious as we had to come out with all kinds of actions to let your partner guess what the items were. I definitely loved the part where karthi was acting the item "gold medal" and he was like biting the ball, pretending it to be a medal. Haha. Apart from that, there were other card games which I forgot the names of. It was just a fun and relaxed session. It was approaching ten when we left settler's cafe. Karthi took a cab back home and we hitched a ride till still road so that we could take 13 back. Fortunately 13 came just as we alighted from the cab.

I supposed I am beginning to appreciate food in singapore more. Probably this was because most of the people in my unit were interested in good food around singapore, so I sort of caught this interest too and coupled with my interest of exploring places, it just fit in. I was supposed to meet up with the guys for ktv today, but too bad kangwen fell ill so we cancelled the outing. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to dinner with my family tonight at east ocean restaurant at shaw centre! That should be all for now.

And to end off, here's a joke I picked up from a forum,

Life Explained:

On the first day God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give you back the other ten." So God agreed.

On the second day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty-year life span."

The monkey said, "How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?" And God agreed.

On the third day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer
under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty and I'll give
back the other forty." And God agreed again.

On the forth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. I'll give you twenty years."

Man said, "What? Only twenty years! Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back and the ten the monkey gave back and the ten the dog gave back, that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You've got a deal."

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves; for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; for the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren; and for next ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

Meanwhile, a big JIAYOU to all those taking or about to take their exams now!!! (^(oO)^)

Sigh. I went to screw up my music playlist yesterday afternoon. Now it's in a mess! Having painstakingly rearranged it the last time I messed it up, it's all jumbled again. Grrrrr. It's not going to be easy arranging 1,400 songs nicely. Sigh. I shall get down to rearranging it after my sleep. Rawrrrrr.

Meanwhile, I found this while blog-hopping! It's the explanation by fang wen shan for his lyrics of 青花瓷.

I had no time yesterday, so I didn't manage to write about my third part as promised. Sorry about that. Well, after waiting for so long, I finally got to play sports yesterday. Haha. We played touch rugby followed by soccer. Touch rugby was fun. I have never played it before but it sure was fun to play. Anyway after we changed to soccer, everyone was still in the rugby mindset. We were like shouting "Line line" and everyone was lining up in a line just like in touch rugby. Haha. Anyway it's good to exercise after staying in the office for so long. I better start losing weight.

Alright back to my third part of the story. Yeah so after the desaru fruit farm tour, we headed towards desaru and went to some beach resort. No, we didn't book a room at the resort. Actually we just wanted to go to some beach to play. And the beach is so so nice. It was so clean that east coast beach was pathetic and sentosa beaches paled in comparison. The sand may not be white but there was no rubbish or any other non-relevant items on the beach to tarnish its purity. And apart from the beach, you should have seen the sea! If you imagine the sea to be that you saw at east coast or sentosa. No way. The sea here is so wide and so blue. You can see nothing beyond the horizon. Not even ships. And the sea is no other than the south china sea, something you will never get to see from singapore. Well, so the kids played and ran about on the beach, collecting seashells and stones. I joined in too. Haha. Still young at heart. We played for around an hour and got tired. So we cleaned ourselves a bit and headed off for dinner. For dinner, we drove to some place called telok sengat which is on the map too. It lies just at the straits between malaysia and singapore, so by assumption there should be seafood to eat. So, we had seafood for dinner. Telok sengat is actually a quiet town. There was not much activity going around and it was very peaceful and serene. And it's near the sea. It's probably famous for seafood. After dinner, it was a trip back to kota tinggi, with most of us falling asleep in the cars being too tired after playing for the whole day. It was a fruitful day, going to so many new places, exploring more about malaysia. I am sure looking forward to the next malaysia trip which is sunway lagoon at kuala lumpur and genting too! So, in the meantime, it's back to work and in anticipation of my upcoming holiday break.

It seems like my choice of template was very good. Haha. So many positive feedback, even from the two young ladies who complained about my old template. Thanks for the comments. That's all for now.

I am back to continue my second day of my trip to kota tinggi!

So we stayed over at my uncle's house. We woke up at 9 in the morning, washed up and went for breakfast. From there on, we went out for the whole day! First destination was desaru fruit farm, located approximately 39km from kota tinggi. It was a 100 hectares-wide farm planted with many species of tropical fruits, with the main product being honey oranges. The place is supposedly quite famous with several celebrities having been there. There were photos of mediacorp artistes on the walls of the place. There was even a variety show hosted by adrian pang and michelle chia which introduced the place. So we went for the farm tour with a tour guide on board a van. First stop was the areas planting breadfruit and dragonfruit. After this it was followed by areas planting several other fruits like jackfruit, durian, soursop, rambutan, lime, chilli, longan, passion fruit, jambu, mango, betel nut. There was sort of a resting hut which grew spices like curry leaves, assam leaves and a big pond of koi. The kids had fun feeding the koi, placing their fingers below the water and let the fish suck the fish food from their fingers. Once food dropped in some place of the pond, the koi would all swarm towards the place, with water splashing everywhere. So after that, we proceeded towards the animal farm! Along the way, we saw some bee boxes, housing the bees which the farm use for pollination. So back to the farm. The farm reared goats, two monkeys, many chickens, ducks, turkeys, two ostriches, turtles, rabbits (nudges) and even snakes. The tour guide even took out the rabbits for us to pat. It was quite funny to see the rabbits hopping about on the table. They were not really hopping but more like pushing their legs backward to move forward. We took turns to stroke the fur of the rabbits. It was so smooth and nice to touch, even their ears too. That concluded our tour and we took the van back to the starting place. We listened to the guy introduce about their bees and products of bees like honey. He was saying that pure honey would never expire and those with expiry dates were all not pure ones. So after his introduction and persuasion to buy some of the honey products, we were given boxes of fruits as part of the tour package. The fruits were quite nice, considering I hadn't eaten some of the fruits before. Well, so after consuming the fruits, we bought some fruits and left for the next destination. As for the next destination, that would be another post I guess. It's getting pretty late, time to get to sleep for work tomorrow. So stay tuned for my third part tomorrow then =)

I changed my template! it's the third one already. Upon receiving complaints from two old girls that my font was too tiny to be read, I decided it's time for a change. So now, the font is larger, colour contrast is better than the previous one! So, comments please. There's always room for improvement =)

So here I am to blog about my trip to malaysia over the last weekend. It was just a short holiday to my uncle's house at kota tinggi. We heard about the rather famous firefly tours at kota tinggi and we decided to take a look. So I went with my mother and brother as well as my another uncle's family of four. We reached kota tinggi at around 2pm. We had lunch and then my uncle drove us to his house. We stayed at the house, chatted most of the time. Then we got ready for dinner and finally it was the long awaited firefly tour. Kota tinggi has a river which runs through the city, so along the river away from the city area are swamplands where the fireflies live in. So we put on our life jackets and boarded the boat. As the boat slowly moved out of the city area, the surroundings darkened except for the occasional fire lit at the river sides of fishermen fishing. The river sides were only trees left. As the boat proceeded deeper, that's where I started seeing it. "Eh there there there!" my cousins exclaimed. "Shh shh, can see can see." The fireflies were blinking on the trees but they never flew away from the trees. Under the dark cloudy sky, the trees dotted with fireflies looked just like christmas trees. There are only two objects which can produce light on its own, one is a star and the other is the firefly. It has such a truly admired unique ability - the ability to produce light. The boat brought us closer to the trees. Looking at them from near, they were so bright. As one landed on my palm, it was as if my palm was glowing. I caught a few but released them in the end, not wanting to disturb the equilibrium of nature. I had not seen so many fireflies in my life and it was indeed an eye-opener for me. So after the firefly tour, we headed for supper! Another thing I recalled about kota tinggi was the supper I always ate - roti prata! Maybe it was a just a habit but it had been a while since I last ate prata. So I was yearning for it. Haha. I even managed to catch the first half of stuttgart vs bayern munich. Stuttgart was 3-0 up by the time we left. After supper, we went back to my uncle's house to rest for the trip on the next day.

That's all for now. I will update the second day of the trip tomorrow night. Meanwhile, a big jiayou to all university students taking their exams soon! All the best!

Alright I am back after three days to add another post to my blog =D

Firstly, happy deepavali to everyone because it's a public holiday! But sadly, I have to do duty on this day, so here I am now in office working till 8pm later. Well now for my post on another outing that I went on tue night. Tue was soon heng's ord date, so he planned to take us out for another outing to bugis there for steamboat. It was meant to be a section outing. Soon heng came in the morning, got his long awaited PINK card, and went off after having lunch with us, leaving me, kangwen and nicholas having to work until 5.30pm before setting off for bugis. We reached earlier than the meeting time which was 7pm. Initially we thought of getting some present for him but there wasn't much time left and since we were a bit famished, jun xiang brought us to a diner at north bridge centre just opposite the road of national library. It was called "food for thought". The atmosphere of the diner was very cosy, a bit of old-fashioned design but still it felt nice and warm to be in. Then on the way to bugis just now, nicholas mentioned that he liked carrot cake (not the fried one but the actual cake with carrots in it) and the restaurant just happened to have carrot cake! We got a slice and we also decided to get a slice of dense durian cake for soon, decorated with a candle! I tried some of the carrot cake and it was really really nice. So, to all cake lovers (*hints*), this place would be a nice place to dine in (: And I found out that their concept of this restaurant was very interesting too, go to their website to find out more http://www.foodforthought.com.sg/hello.html

Well then, soon heng arrived with aston. It wasn't surprising since we would be going to somewhere related to aston later on. I couldn't get the candle to light up, neither could soon heng. Haha. The durian cake was split into mouthfuls. Even I, who don't eat durian, was fed a mouthful. So after the pre-dinner cake, we proceeded to liang seah street which was just nearby. That area is really a steamboat paradise. There are so many steamboat shops there, all boasting the original chong qing steamboat. The one soon heng wanted to eat at was very very crowded and the waiting list was quite long too. So we gave up eating there and aston suggested another restaurant which was happy pay steamboat (天天火锅小厨). I don't know how or why but jun xiang said something like vip and we were ushered to the second floor which was air-conditioned with better decorations and room space. The second floor is some old fashioned setting which I don't know which decade that was. There were a lot of coca cola bottles, those glass bottled ones, which I guess is very very rare to see nowadays. There were six soup bases to choose from, so we took the corn rib and 麻辣 one. We were all carnivores there so meat was a must for us. Haha. Next were the additional food like dumplings, meat balls, vegetables. The main food was still meat. We ordered pork, beef, lamb and fish. Well, the meat was well sliced and thin enough. The 麻辣 soup wasn't exactly 麻辣. The spiciness was there but it wasn't exactly numbing. The corn rib soup was decent enough. Drinks provided, lemon tea and barley, were free flow and refillable. Basically the place was family-oriented, so it was normal to be noisy over there. Service was alright, food came rather readily. I think we asked for many servings of meat, until we contemplated writing 10 plates at one go, but it wouldn't work. Nicholas and I stopped eating first while the rest carried on with a few more plates of meat. The total cost amounted to 22 per person.

Then after dinner, we walked over to purvis street where aston's brother opened a bar there. The place had ktv and a pool table. And soon heng was displaying his vocals again! Well, drinks were on soon heng as decided by him, so we got tiger beer. Jun xiang and kangwen went to play pool, nicholas and I just stayed at our seats while looking at soon heng sing. There was a girl there who could sing really really well too. I couldn't stay for long, had to get home by midnight. So I just drank like two glasses of beer, watch them play a bit of dice, sing some songs. There was this super high uncle who kept praising soon heng's singing. Well I think soon heng enjoyed himself. That's ord for him. Well till my ord, 443 more days! One year and two months more left to serve. Jiayou everyone! 15 more minutes to the end of my work. Packing up time. That's all for now then.

My mind's unweaving/ 5:35 pm

Monday, November 05, 2007
So I am back again after a short while to update on my another trip around Singapore, this time round being lunch at raffles city and ktv at chinatown! The outing was meant to celebrate soon heng's and chin leng's ord and birthday. So they decided to have lunch at menotti italian cafe & bar which is located at raffles city, right opposite chijmes. My decision to join them was quite last minute, it being zehan asking me the night before whether I wanted to go. Although I came late, it was still earlier than the organizer himself. Hehe. In the end we decided to go with the set lunch special which included a main pasta dish, a dessert and coffee or tea which was at $19.90 before gst and service charge. I ordered a linguine (blue swimmer crabmeat in creamy tomato sauce), a soffiato (warm dark chocolate cake with chocolate chip icecream) and english breakfast tea. The ambience of the restaurant was pretty nice, the lighting was just right and service was rather good. The pasta came a while later. The linguine looked a bit like meepok and I commented that the whole dish looked like bak cho mee. There wasn't much crab meat though but the sauce was decent. It wasn't too sour and I thought it was just nice. After the pasta came the dessert. It was hot chocolate cake with chocolate chip icecream and it blended very nicely. The sweetness was alright but quite sinful for the body. Haha. On the overall, it would say this place would be a nice place to dine in, whether with your friends or girlfriends. Total cost amounted to $23.60 per person. So after lunch, some guys had to go off with the remaining six of us, soon heng, marcus, colin, aston, kangwen and me, deciding to head to chinatown for ktv. According to soon heng, there was one at smith street offering $10 per person from 2pm to 7pm with free flow of drinks. So we went there, walking through a maze of shops in chinatown. The room they gave us was quite special. It was behind the kitchen! We were wondering why they had another ktv room located behind the kitchen. The place had more middle-aged people as compared to places like kbox which teenagers frequent more. I would say $10 for 5 hours was a good deal though. There was a large variety of songs, including songs in other languages like indonesian, malay, cambodian. We sang lots of songs, including songs that I didn't know as well. I think I can't really sing well. The best I can do was to 和声 with another person. Quite sucky. Sad. Bleah. Time to sing more. Haha. In the end, I think I screamed too much for linkin park songs and my voice was a bit hoarse. I left an hour earlier because I had to join my parents for dinner. And dinner was as great as lunch. We had zi-cha at the coffeeshop downstairs for a table of ten, my family and my uncle's family. We ordered food like fried calamari, cereal chicken, two black pepper crabs and a steamed crab. And I thought my voice was going to be gone as the food were so heaty. But luckily no and I had a great dinner instead. Haha.

That should be pretty much what happened on sunday. Work today was super duper busy. A usually five-men strong section suddenly became just three guys working in the morning and two guys in the afternoon! How busy is that. Grrrr. Never mind. It's just monday blues I guess. I was very tired just now, just fell asleep on the bed after dinner. Sigh. Tired tired. I can't wait for tomorrow's work to end, then we can go enjoy food again, this time round with drinks! Haha. So let's await the next update of my outings ^_^
