A new life, a new beginning

I finally finished reading all the chapters of d.gray-man until the latest chapter! I spent almost five days reading from chapter 1 to chapter 157. Haha. It is a great manga series indeed.

I went to play soccer on wednesday during sports and got myself two injuries as a result. The first was a cut to my head, right on the pimple above the right eye. So the pimple is now more swollen than before. The second was a bad scrape to my left knee after I executed a last-ditch sliding tackle. The scrape is slightly larger than a fifty cent coin. Then some liquid kept flowing out of the wounded skin even two days after the injury. So I am walking with a slight limp now because I cannot bend my left knee that well with the wound right on my kneecap area. I just hope it recovers in time for me to start running on monday.

Anyway, yesterday was labour day, one of the few days where my father did not have to work. So we went for our annual family outing over at east coast park! Basically it was cycling along east coast park from the lagoon area until the changi safra resort and back. We decided not to continue on the route until changi beach park because it was another five kilometres away. Then
something unfortunate occurred to my bike. My pedal came loose and dropped off! My uncle managed to fix the pedal back temporarily so that I could cycle back to the starting location. After that, I took a break while my cousins and my brother went to the beach to play. It was six plus by the time we packed up everything and left. After that, we decided to have dinner at the new hawker centre which just opened this year following the completion of the forty-storeyed hdb flats opposite toa payoh central. According to my parents, the duck rice sold there was from a famous stall called you ji. So naturally, all of us ordered duck rice to eat. After dinner, we decided to venture to the fortieth storey to see for the first time how the view was like from the top storey. First we took the lift to the twenty-first storey and I thought the lift was already moving very quickly. But when we switched over to the other lift which could bring us to the top floor, the lift moved at such an incredible speed. It was zooming past the floors until it reached the top floor. Then at the top floor, the wind was blowing strongly but the view was simply magnificent. The view extends much further as compared to the view at the twentieth floor. I believe malaysia can be fairly visible but I cannot confirm anything because all the buildings are just specks of lights from far. Imagine being at the highest point of a town and when you look around yourself, all the other buildings are so low and the shophouses way below look just like models. Haha. It was a fun experience to look at the surroundings from high above.

I got home and took a quick shower. Then I was out again, off to thomson road to meet with xinran and the class guys. Xinran came back to singapore from canada for a week so the guys met up with him over at the roti prata house at upper thomson road. So there was me, xinran, liyuan, zhenghan, hongwei and jenyi. We sat down, ordered our pratas and chatted. It is now common knowledge that when you are in a group with guys in ns, the only thing they talk about is ns. Haha. It was funny listening to how liyuan was kpkb-ing about his ns. He is still the same as ever. I guess everyone has not changed a lot. Just a few more months to go, everyone! =)

So this sums up my labour day yesterday. I am on leave today to take care of the household and here I am, preparing dinner again for my family. But this time round, dinner is easier to prepare because my mother already cooked the soup and braised meat in the morning before she went to work. So all I have to do is to heat them up! Haha. Back to dinner then.
