Sorry for the lack of updates. Sorry to my readers =) I promised to blog so I shall keep the promise and finish up my entry here. By the way I am on duty now. Hehe. I have been occupied by other stuff lately and a very big part of me is lazy to type out a decent post for my blog =p Anyway it's the tenth day of chinese new year now. And I had just came back from malaysia last weekend after a three-day stay at my maternal grandparents' place. It was definitely a fun time spending my chinese new year there. So I guess I shall dedicate this post about my chinese new year then. Haha.

I got home after half-day work on new year's eve, managed to pack all my stuff into a small bag and then we were off to malaysia. We took a bus to larkin where my uncle came to fetch us to my maternal grandparents' house in kulai. Everyone was there already by the time we arrived. My aunts were all busily preparing for reunion dinner while my cousins were over at my uncle's house just a few houses away. As usual they were playing ps2 over at my uncle's house. This was common considering that I had ten cousins, seven guys and three girls and I was the oldest one there. Haha. As usual, with so many boys around, games played on the ps2 revolved around soccer, racing, basketball and even wrestling. So the whole day was spent on ps2 until we were called over for reunion dinner. Reunion dinner was splendid! Fabulous! Wonderful! What could I say when there was so many ladies preparing the reunion dinner. Haha. In addition there was champagne and red wine! My uncle went to open three bottles of red wine and if I remembered correctly, we finished everything. So after dinner, some of my younger cousins went to play with fireworks. I recalled that when I was much younger, my cousins and I used to play fireworks together at the porch in front of the house. At that time, we were too young to use the lighter, so everyone would queue up and take turns to light up their fireworks. The fireworks I am talking about here are those small kinds which can be played on the roads and concrete grounds, not those that will fly up into the sky and explode. I think most of us have already grew out of playing with fireworks, so we did not join in. Oh no, I see a digit 2 approaching my age )=

So, I spent the night in the living room of my grandparents' house. There was not enough rooms to sleep in. The next morning, we borrowed my uncle's car and drove up to asahan, melaka where my paternal family was from. Both of my paternal grandparents passed away a few years ago and one of my uncle is staying the house now. A few of my relatives were there already. Unlike my maternal family, I felt more distant with my paternal family. I do not know the reason why also. Anyway, since it was the first day of chinese new year, it was time to collect hongbaos. Unfortunately, most of my hongbaos collected were in malaysia ringgit. Haha. Well so after a few hours of stay there, we set off back to kulai. On our way back, we stopped at tangkak where my mother's friend lived to pay a visit. By the time we got back, it was almost five. I cannot recall whether we played soccer or not but what was more memorable was that dinner was vegetarian! Vegetarian meals are definitely not a favourite among the children, judging from the amount of food remaining on the tables. So how to we deal with all the remaining food? In the end, my mother ordered everyone to finish up the vegetarian food before they can leave the house to go home. Well for me, I had to help out even though I was not leaving the house. Anyway so I spent another night sleeping in the living room. In fact, I spent every night of my stay sleeping in the living room. The second day of chinese new year was then spent on even more ps2 gaming. Then as afternoon approached, one by one, my uncles and aunts were preparing to set off to visit their other respective relatives in other places. Fortunately lunch was delicious homecooked food (no more vegetarian!) and I drank a can of heineken beer as well. So after lunch, we continued with a few more hours of gaming. Very no-life. Haha. Then it was street soccer time. When I refer to street soccer here, I mean the actual road not the court. Yes we just played on the road in front of the houses with bricks as goal-posts.

So, after that, my relatives set off for their destinations, leaving my family and my mother's sister's family still remaining at my grandparents' house. The house became less lively without a lot of people. In the end, we ended up playing ps2 and soccer for the next two days. We even tried playing african cup on pro-evolution soccer. It was the third day of chinese new year which was saturday when I left my grandparents' house back to singapore. So that was how I spent my three days of chinese new year in malaysia. I think it was not very interesting. Haha. I hope everyone enjoyed their chinese new year!

My duty is ending soon. I think I shall stop here for the time being. I hope this is long enough for you. =)
That's all for now.
