So far, we have seen a few exciting matches:
germany 4-2 win over costa rica
phillip lahm's 6th min shot into the far corner was superb and this just shows how good he is (haha in FM).
klose celebrated his birthday with two goals though FM indicated that his finishing is poor.
we must also praise paulo wanchope for his two goals, gifted to him by the german defence when they failed to anticipate two through passes to wanchope who finished it simply.
and finally frings 30 yard screamer, incredible shot, no one could block it and it was just out of the reach of the keeper.

ecuador stunning 2-0 win over poland
showed that they could still win at low altitudes

england humble 1-0 win over paraguay
credits to gamarra for the own goal and not beckham for the freekick
lampard had 2 nice shots but both were saved by the stand-in keeper (first choice keeper got himself injured in the first few minutes)
do keep a lookout for nelson valdez, uprising paraguayan star currently playing for werder bremen

T & T unexpected draw 0-0 with sweden
despite the odds and numbers (T & T were down to ten men for like half the game), T & T held out to a draw, man of the match goes to shaka hislop for making numerous superb saves against sweden, rating confirm 10/10

argentina 2-1 win over ivory coast
argentina lead 2-0 at first half before drogba got one back for ivory coast, too bad they could not score another to equalise

holland small 1-0 win over serbia & montenegro
the team with the best scoring record against the team with the most stingy defence, really like zi xiang mao dun, in the end, the best scoring record won by a margin

mexico 3-1 win over iran
omar bravo scored a brace as mexico won iran comfortably

portugal 1-0 win angola
angola was once portuguese territory, and portugal had been thrashing them big scores but this score was quite unexpected though I must comment that figo showed great vision to pass the ball for pauleta to score, c. ronaldo must be frustrated that he could not score any despite many chances, a header that hit the crossbar and a long shot that was parried away by the keeper

australia stunning comeback against japan to win 3-1
this just shows that nothing is impossible, as guus hiddink sent on tim cahill and aloisi for them to grab the winning goals, cahill scored two while aloisi scored the last, japan's defence totally self-destructed in the last few minutes as australia scored 3 goals in just 5 minutes, truly comeback kings

czech republic 3-0 win over USA
czech is world no. 2 and USA is world no. 5 leh, should be quite exciting but USA got a thrashing from czech republic, koller was unmarked when he headed the ball in (of course lah, how to mark him when he's the tallest player there lol), rosicky scored a screamer from midfield before adding another as he raced into the USA penalty area and shooting with the outside of his right foot (yeah he's replacing pires at arsenal next season, so I guess it would quite exciting to watch him play)

last but not least italy 2-0 win over ghana
italy could have scored more had the ghana keeper not pulled off strings of saves from toni, gilardino, perotta etc but iaquinta did well to capitalise on a mistake by kuffour and rounded the keeper to score the second

maybe I should add a topscorer chart here:
2 goals
miroslav klose (germany)
paulo wanchope (costa rica)
omar bravo (mexico)
tim cahill (australia)
tomas rosicky (czech republic)

1 goal
phillip lahm (germany)
torsten frings (germany)
carlos tenorio (ecuador)
augustin delgado (ecuador)
hernan crespo (argentina)
javier saviola (argentina)
didier drogba (ivory coast)
arjen robben (holland)
yahya golmohammadi (iran)
antonio zinha (mexico)
pedro pauleta (portugal)
shunsuke nakamura (japan)
john aloisi (australia)
jan koller (czech republic)
andrea pirlo (italy)
vincenzo iaquinta (italy)

that's all for world cup updates now, watching south korea vs togo match now (9 pm match), togo scored a while ago and south korea had just pulled one back through a freekick
hellmos signing off...with more updates to come ;)
